Apple Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Please don’t judge me. I’ve loved grilled cheese since childhood. Every now and then I like to have something I consider to be a guilty pleasure. But in true Cynthia fashion, I added a little healthy to this party. To this I used a whole grain sprouted wheat bread (instead of Wonder bread), and organic cheese (instead of processed American cheese). Also had a salad, ’cause you gotta have balance! Since I love playing with flavors, it seemed like a logical conclusion is that I would do the same with grilled cheese. This is an “elevated” version of the one that many of us might have grown up with. However, I do recommend using a hearty sprouted wheat bread as to add a healthy element to it. This recipe is really not with exact portions, because the portions would be determined by the size of bread you select to use, as well as the level of cheesiness you prefer. Needless to say, it goes well with a nice creamy soup or broth. And, oh yah, have a salad with it!
