Beet and Tangerine Smoothie

Although there are a mix of veggies in this smoothie, beets are the star ingredient in that all parts of the beet are used. This recipe also includes kefir, a fermented milk with a tart, slightly sweet taste. I’ve added some tangerine and frozen banana to the party to add a little extra sweetness, and for extra nutrients, some chia and flax are in order.

  • Blender

Ingredients
  

  • ¾ Cup Kefir
  • Cup Raw beets Diced
  • Cup Beet leaves Chopped
  • ¼ Cup Beet stems Chopped
  • 3 Tangerines
  • ¼ Cup Celery Chopped
  • ¼ Cup Cucumber Diced
  • Frozen banana slices
  • 1 Tsp Chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp Flax Meal

Instructions
 

  • Chop veggies. Add ingredients to blender, starting with kefir, frozen banana, fresh veggies, chia and flax. Blend until smooth and serve.
